Registry Office Weddings in Cyprus
The ceremony will take place in the registry office of your chosen resort under special licence, all of which will be arranged for you. The ceremony will be conducted in English by the mayor of your chosen town hall.Anglican Wedding Ceremonies in Cyprus
Anglican Chaplains, who are registered ministers for celebrating marriages, will conduct the ceremony. These are subject to the individual chaplain's availability. One of the couple must have been baptised in the Name of the Trinity through a standard Christian Church and provide a copy of their certificate as proof. Please Note: The chaplain covering the churches in Paphos will marry divorcees. The marriage of divorcees in Ayia Napa, Protaras and Larnaca is subject to the chaplain's approval (please contact us for details). Divorcees can only be married in the Limassol church as long as they have been married only once before.
Catholic Weddings in Cyprus
In order for the Catholic marriage to be official, it is necessary for the actual wedding ceremony to take place in the registry office prior to the religious ceremony. Once you have advised the priest of your local parish of your intention to conduct your catholic service in Cyprus, your local priest will then confirm the requirements and will send the necessary documents to the priest in Cyprus who will be conducting the religious service.
Payment for town halls, churches and chapels, plus any wedding extras organised in resort, should be made locally in Cyprus pounds.
Please Note: Weddings cannot take place during local Bank Holidays and Public Holidays, and that days and times subject to change.
Blessings in Cyprus
We are now able to offer blessings by an Anglican minister or Catholic wedding ceremony in most Paphos and Latchi Hotels. The ceremony is very similar to that of an Anglican wedding with couples exchanging vows and obtaining a certificate. Clients must have been married prior either in the UK or by the civil ceremony in Cyprus. The ceremonies can take place in the hotel chapels, a designated weddings room or the hotel grounds.
Ceremonies at Cyprus Hotels
An ever increasing number of hotels within Cyprus can cater for your wedding from the complete ceremony right through to reception. Couples that stay at the hotel where they have a ceremony often pay less or no charges for venues and this is often convenient when finalising your wedding plans. Civil ceremonies will be conducted by the registrar at your hotel with a choice of indoor and outdoor venues at many hotels. Some have special rooms whilst others provide a ceremony in the grounds which may include a pretty garden or sea views. If you are seeking a religious ceremony you can opt for an Anglican church wedding or blessing at hotels which have their own chapel (see our selection of hotels here, though this is only a small selection - please contact us for more details).
