Dubai Flow Motion from Rob Whitworth on Vimeo.

Of course, we’re referring to the rare 'Naked Man Orchid' (Orchis Italica) which grows in the foothills of the Five Finger Mountains at this time of year. This beautiful orchid, has flowers which look just like tiny men, hence its somewhat unusual name. This is just one of the 32 species of orchid which grow here and are native to North Cyprus. Spring is the perfect time to visit to explore the beautiful countryside, although Autumn is lovely too, once the heat of summer has died down.

Our "Insider Tips" Iceland Travel Blog

We've just come back from a visit to Iceland so wanted to share our thoughts and Insider Tips with you!

Iceland is an unusual and fascinating country to visit at any time of the year. It’s emerald green in the summer and snowy in the winter, it has fascinating geology; stunning scenery; interesting cuisine; cool architecture and a tiny population of warm, welcoming people. Best of all (for us visiting from the UK), is that what used to be a really expensive destination is now relatively quite cheap, after the Icelandic economic crash of a few years ago.

Our "Insider Tips" Bruges Travel Blog

Photo © Ian Bush Top Drawer Holidays - a typical scene in Bruges historic centre

Bruges in Belgium is an amazing place to visit: the historical architecture is stunning; there’s lots to do and great chocolate, beer and delicious Belgian food to enjoy. You can go at any time of the year: the weather is fine in the summer and cold and moody in the winter (you might get some snow if you’re lucky). In the summer it’s busy with hoards of tourists and day-trippers, taking photographs; riding round in horse-drawn buggies and browsing in the chocolate, lace and tapestry shops.

New York Pride Week 2014 June 24 - 29

New York City is home to one of the world's most vibrant, thriving gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities. The City embraces its diversity as a source of strength, and that's never more evident than during Pride Week, when neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs celebrate the progress made in NYC and beyond since the Stonewall Riots of 1969 sparked the gay rights movement. The theme this year is "We Have Won When We're One," reflecting marriage-equality victories across the country. The week's activities include a family movie night, a rally on the Hudson River waterfront and a rooftop rave, all leading up to the massive march down Fifth Avenue, which takes place on June 29 at noon.

Agriturismo of Sicily

Agriturismo was codified into Italian law in 1985 and means a holiday spent on a working farm or country estate. The small-scale cultivation of local produce and the traditional cuisines of the regions are valued highly by Sicilians, and since small farms have latterly become less profitable, many owners of land or smallholdings have restored their buildings to accommodate holidaymakers and augment their incomes. Many encourage their guests to take part in the farm’s activities while enjoying the rural life of the region, albeit in some comfort.
