Jemma and I had a fantastic Honeymoon and I definitely scored big 'brownie points' with the new wife, who loved the whole thing, especially the Kenya leg of the trip. All three Hotels in Kenya were incredible and we were spoilt at Palacina and House of Waine. Palacina upgraded us on arrival to their penthouse suite, which was bigger than our 3 bedroom house! House of Waine treated us to a meal for 2 on a private terrace in the evening which was a very nice touch.

We can not praise Little Governors camp highly enough and would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in a Safari. The staff were fantastic and very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive, and the food and facilities were beyond our expectations. The game viewing was also very good and was complimented by our Game Driver who was brilliant.

We also had an enjoyable time in the Seychelles, only spoilt by the weather which wasn't great. It rained for a few hours most days and unfortunately a couple were a complete washout, however the facilities were very good, so we were not short of things to do when it rained. The spa in particular was great. The Constance Ephelia is very large but most of the time it didn't feel like it. The only criticism I would have about the resort is that the service, at times, was a bit lax. On a couple of occasions we asked for something, and it would take quite a lot longer than expected for our request to be satisfied. However that wasn't nearly enough to spoil our stay and we had a nice relaxing time after the action packed stay in Kenya.

"Hi. Many thanks for your email. Yes, we had a fantastic holiday and we found your services were a big help and reassurance in organising our special trip. Thank you.

The golf was great – Monte Carlo golf club is very welcoming and we both played pretty well – in fact Mark went round in scratch! We noticed as we played the 9th a gentleman had cut in between us and the group of ladies a hole behind, so we asked if he’d like to join us – it turned out he was a member of the club who knew the course well etc so it was an added bonus to play the back nine with him and have a drink afterwards in the clubhouse like us golfers do!.

We were quite happy driving around and had a virtually brand new top of the range little Citroen via Hertz.

Another thing we did which we’d particularly recommend was a perfume making workshop at Molinard in Grasse – fascinating and you come away with a tailor made perfume/aftershave each. The Golden Goat at Eze is wonderful for a drink/snack with amazing views. We did the usual Casino in MC, afternoon tea at The Hermitage (impeccable service) and ate out at some very nice places (recommend Pulcinella for dinner and Columbus for their tasting lunch) and even went to Jimmy Z’s night club! Quite an experience. And the helicopter there and back was brilliant. I have attached a few photos – the last two are views from the hotel.

The Monte Carlo Bay Hotel was lovely, our room spacious with great views and breakfast, service, concierge etc all very good. We were disappointed the huge sand bottomed lagoon pool was closed when we arrived, as we were looking forward to that, and on signs by the pool it said it was only open until Sept. When we asked about it they confirmed yes, it was always shut by Oct, but that by chance for a special weekend for their corporate guests (there was a big conference going on at The Grimaldi and obviously there were a lot of corporate guests at the hotel) they were opening it 8am Friday morning for the weekend…guess who was there waiting at 8am to swim into it on the morning of our flight back! It was fantastic, and I would say that is a real plus for any of your clients at that hotel in the summer months, June to September inclusive from memory.

Another thing we were disappointed at was that the Blue Gin Bar at the hotel was open only for corporate clients (we asked and we weren’t allowed in) on the Wednesday and Thursday evenings. There was no pre-notification of this, and as the hotel isn’t within walking distance of anything similar for independent residents of the hotel, this was a pity as there isn’t a similar bar to go in to have cocktails etc in the hotel.

All in all an absolutely super holiday. And yes we will certainly recommend Top Drawer and ask for your advice/quotes for our future holidays. And if you ever need any mystery guests we’d be happy to oblige and feedback!"
