Mexico's Pacific shores are home to the vibrant jungle landscapes of the Sierra Madre Mountains and offer secluded golden sands and real Mexican flavour. A thousand miles of beaches and blue lagoons stretch from Mazatlan in the north curving southeast past Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Zihuatanejo, Acapulco, Puerto Escondido and Huatulco, to name but a few of the places to discover.

Perhaps one of the best places is the Costalegre, a length of Pacific coastline that stretches from Manzanillo in the south to Puerto Vallarta in the north. This wild coastline is an area of unspoilt tropical jungle, gorgeous beaches, bays and lagoons filled with exotic birds, tiny fishing villages and small hidden luxury hotels. There is good air access to Puerto Vallarta or Manzanillo and you can also approach the coast overland from Guadalajara in a few hours.
Zihuatanejo (pronounced Zee-wa-tanney-oh) is another of our favourites. Close to the flashier resort of Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo couldn't be more different from its neighbour Ixtapa, with its luxury hotels, golf courses and glamourous marinas. Zihuatanejo is a peaceful friendly place, once a sleepy fishing village and still retaining its small town charm. It attracts visitors with its wonderful hilltop views of the ocean and palm-strewn beaches and has kept any development very low-key, offering charming hotels, small local restaurants and craft shops.
Wherever you plan to unwind on Mexico's Pacific Coast, we would be glad to offer advice on the best resort for your requirements and your itinerary.
